Advanced Occult Guide Kickstarter Roundup

0 KS Header.png

A Busy Week

Hello, Everybody Games fans!

It’s all in the title—we’ve had a CRAZY busy week previewing cool stuff from the Advanced Occult Guide for you in preparation for our Kickstarter. As a result, I thought it would be helpful to round up all the information we’ve shared this week in one convenient blog post here on the Everybody Games site, as well as toss you some all-new tidbits!

The Elementian Class

The elementian is a a hybrid combatant/spellcasting class with a powerful elemental strike that's heavily customizable based on your elemental aspect!

The Shapeshifter Class

The shapeshifter is a hybrid expert/spellcasting class with powerful supernatural abilities that allow them to assume alternate forms to enhance their skills and battle foes.

Avoidance Ward

Avoidance ward is a new occult ritual that will allow you to draw lines that certain creatures cannot step across, effectively warding an area from their presence within limitation.

About the Kickstarter

Here’s a round-up of all the information we’ve revealed about the Kickstarter so far! It includes an overview of our Kickstarter’s scope, a list of compiled products and new content in the book, and a list of the wonderful authors who are involved in the project.

In the Spirit of Discovery

Now that we’ve rounded up all the current information about the Kickstarter, let’s look at something new: spirits! Pact Magic is something people have asked us for us to add to Starfinder for a LONG time, and we started working on it back during the Starfarer’s Superbundle last year. (And yeah, we’re still working on it. Sorry that it’s taken forever Superbundle fans; a lot of playtesting and reiterating went into this system to make it as good as possible for y’all! We’re trying to release the 6 spirits we owe you before the Kickstarter.)

With all this in mind, here’s a snapshot at what occult spirits look like in the Advanced Occult Guide. Don’t worry, not all of this will make sense to you yet. (And no, you don’t get ALL of those powers. Only as many as you can handle….)

Coming Soon!

The Advanced Occult Guide Kickstarter launches early February 2020. Since we’ve still got some time before then, look for us continuing to talk about the KS in the days ahead. Next Monday we’ll be launching our pre-campaign page so you can be alerted as soon as the Kickstarter goes live. We’ll also take a look at some additional content from the book next week.

Until then, have a wonderfully wary weekend!

Everyman April — 4/2017

Another month, another slew of Everyman Minis!

What do you guys have to look forward to throughout the month of April? Well, I'd be happy to show you!

We were hopping mad for kangaroos for one day!

We were hopping mad for kangaroos for one day!

Hopping right out of our usually produce line-up was Everyman Minis: Unchained Kangaroos! Author Alexander Augunasmight not be an Aussie, but even he knew that the Kangaroo as presented in the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game just wasn't  going to cut it—it lacked all of the dangerousness that these marsupials  actually possessed! So, what better way to fix the situation than with agood, old-fashioned unchaining?

In addition to a renovated kangaroo stat block, this PDF also includes a stat block for anawakened kangaroo unchained fighter named Jack, and a new Kangaroo Style feat chain that Jack employees.

This PDF is currently available at DriveThruRPG, and will soon be available wherever Pathfinder PDFs are sold.

Author Luis Loza figured that if we were going to unchain the kangaroo, then one good joke deserved another! Introducing Everyman Minis: Spells of Comedy! Included within are a half dozen new spells sure to bring chuckles and laughs to your allies when you use them, and sour faces when they're used against them!

Included within are hilarious new spells likebanana slippers (wrap your foes' feet in fruit rinds so they slip all over the place), illusory trio (create a figment that distracts foes with humor), and create pie (create a confection to throw at your foes).

Everyman Minis: Spells Comedy will be available this Thursday!

Why yes, you too can employ the illustrious banana slippers spell against your foes!

Two products with brawler love in two months? IMPOSSIBLE!

Two products with brawler love in two months? IMPOSSIBLE!

Just in case you thought Luis could only do silly stuff well, he returns for a second time this month with another an all-new  product: Everyman Minis: Way of the Eight.

If you've ever wanted your brawler, fighter, or monk to have the raw power to take down foes by tapping deep into their innermost energies, Everyman Minis: Way of the Eight is for you! Within, you'll learn how to toss aside your body's natural inhibitors to achieve the raw, awesome powers that you've always been capable of!

You'll be able to pick up Everyman Minis: Way of the Eight on April 14th.

From scrolls to wordcasting, language is power in the world of magic, and author Matt Morris wants to take you to mystic places unseen in Everyman Mini: Mystic Scrivener. The Mystic Scrivener is an all-new investigator archetype that allows the investigator to explore powers previously unknown via the written word. Equal parts rogue and occultist, the mystic scrivener scribes small words and phrases of power onto small talismans that he can later use to create magical effects, create magic circles, give life to constructs, and more!

You'll be able to pick up Everyman Minis: Mystic Scrivener on April 21st.

Look, he simply CAN'T go adventuring without all twelve volumes of, "Scribing for Those Who Can." Its a necessity!

Rounding out our April offerings is ... a product that's NOT an Everyman Mini? What's this?!

With a bit of hard word and essential time budgeting, I've managed to start getting some longer products back onto the Everyman Gaming rotation. This week, we're kicking off our return to sort-of-form with an all new Everyman Iconic! An ... UNCHAINED Iconic, even!

Tying into our crazy-popular Everyman Unchained: Fighters product, we've got an Everyman Iconics classic redone as an unchained fighter! Everyman Iconics: Kyr'shin Unchained reimagines the "face" of Everyman Gaming, as pro-reviewer Endzeitgeist once called him, as a single-class fighter using the fan-favorite and critically acclaimed unchained fighter rules.

Everyman Iconics: Kyr'shin Unchained will be available on April 28th.

While that's all for this month's new products, I do have ONE more announcement. Next month towards the end of May, Everyman Gaming will be releasing an all-new print product! I'll leave you with a preview.

Have a good month, Everyman Gamers! I'll be back with more information soon!

What's New With Everyman Gaming, 3/2017

Avast ye, scallywags! Ye best be buyin' me product this week!

Avast ye, scallywags! Ye best be buyin' me product this week!

As February closes, Everyman Gaming returns with more all-new products! As you know, we still have one more product left for the month of February (this week's Everyman Minis: Gnoll Options), but that doesn't mean that there's no cause for looking ahead!

Coming in March 2017, new Everyman Minis and ... a surprise? Check out our new offerings below!

If you're me, then you probably know one too many players who LOVE to make the argument, "Well the rules don't SAY anything bad happens to me for staying up forever, so I do it!" Well, no longer! Everyman Minis: Sleeping Rules provides you with sanity-based rules, new spells, and new sleeping conditions (like mild drowsiness) for use in your campaign!

One of the most COMMON requests that I head for Everyman Gaming is, "New brawler stuff!" So wait no longer, Everyman Minis: Brawler Archetypes is here. Packed with three new archetypes based on real-world fighting techniques, you can use your brawler like never before with Everyman Minis: Brawler Archetypes

11 EMM Mysteries of Spring.png

Sure winter is lovely, but March ushers in the season of springtime in the northern hemisphere, so we've got an all-new Everyman Mini for you themed around the wonders of springtime. Everyman Minis: Mysteries of Spring includes an all-new oracle mystery themed around spring themes like youth, growth, and renewal!

It comes from beyond the stars! Inspired by one of the ultimate fantasy video game classics, Everyman Minis: Malborgoroth introduces a horrific new monster from an alien world. Born from flumphs twisted by the malice of the Great Old Ones, malborgoroths are based known for their "wretched breath," which is capable of poisoning their prey's very existence.

Part of our 2016 Dynastic Races Compendium Kickstarter was a rather unorthodox Everyman Gaming product—the Dynastic Races Coloring Book! We figured that our backers were super generous and trusting to give us their hard-earned money in advance to help us fund the Dynastic Races Compendium, so we wanted to make sure that we "gave back" the art to our backers, in a sense. After we distribute the Dynastic Races Coloring Book PDF to our backers (which should happen Late February to early March), we're also planning on making the PDF (as well as a print version of the coloring book) widely available.

So if coloring books are your thing, let us know! Everyman Gaming has tons of fantastic art that would be perfect for coloring books, assuming people are interested.

Whelp, that's it for now—new announcements lurk on the horizons, however! Expect another blog post before long telling you about even more cool things that Everyman Gaming will be doing soon. Because with Everyman Gaming, innovation is never more than a page away!

A Very Everyman Unboxing

A strange package arrived on my doorstep today, and rather than just open it like a normal person I decided to take the Lovecraftian route and film my experience for further documentation!

Guess what? There WASN'T a reality-rending eldritch abomination inside the box this time! Instead, IT WAS THE PROOF COPY OF THE DYNASTIC RACES COMPENDIUM!

AH! THAT'S SO MUCH BETTER THAN INSANITY!

Check out the video below!

Announcing the Dynastic Races Compendium!

Like 'lil Loza here, I can barely contain my excitement that the Dynastic Races Compendium is FINALLY done!

Like 'lil Loza here, I can barely contain my excitement that the Dynastic Races Compendium is FINALLY done!

It's here! It's finally here!

The Dynastic Races Compendium is officially available at all major online RPG vendors!

The Dynastic Races Compendium was a project that I've wanted to do since the Samsaran Compendium, where the notion of such a book is mentioned in my author anecdote. The idea is simple—breathe new life into four races that have very little substantial information written about them in the context of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. I had the words in my head, but I lacked the funds to fully illustrate such an illustrious tome, so I turned to Kickstarter for help. 175 stupendous, patient backers gave me all the the help that I needed to make the Dynastic Races Compendium happen, and I couldn't be prouder of the results.

Within the Dynastic Races Compendium, you'll find all-new information about the four titular "dynastic races," the willy and capricious kitsune, the noble and proud nagaji, the timeless and enigmatic samsarans, and the shifty and elusive wayangs. But don't take my word for it, check out some of the new content yourself!

Everything You Could Ever Want to Know

The Dynastic Races Compendium opens with four sections—one dedicated to each of the four dynastic races. Within, you can learn general facts and information about each race, study their biology and ethnic groups, learn about their culture and religion, and even pick up a thing or two about a unique topic that pertains to each race. Each race's section also includes sample origin stories that members of the race adhere to (or that other races believe about that race), and there's even a sample religion for each deity as well.

Loza, about a decade older, seems like he's still plenty exciting, but not so great at holding his brandy.

Loza, about a decade older, seems like he's still plenty exciting, but not so great at holding his brandy.

For me, I think designing the new cultures was the most fascinating part of writing these chapters of the Dynastic Races Compendium. As a writer, I'm mostly known for my crunch work, but if you pick up the Dynastic Races Compendium, prepare to see me at my prosiest. I'm particularly proud of my work with the wayangs, specifically the way I wove a racial sense of nihilism into a functionally believable outlook on life.

Nagaji Snake Charmer.png

In addition to those four monstrous chapters, you'll find a massive array of new character options for your kitsune, nagaji, samsaran, and wayang characters. Whether you're looking for a new alternate race trait (we've got over a dozen per race), new archetypes or feats, new spells, or even some new character traits, the Dynastic Races Compendium has something that'll cater to your interests! What's better? Well, most of the archetypes especially aren't racially locked, so even if you're just interested in dabbling in the flavor of these races, you'll likely find something of interest!

One new rules element that I'm especially excited for is a new feat for kitsune called Foxfire Wysp. This new feat allows kitsune characters to have a special familiar that functions similarly to a cross between a wysp and a will-'o-the-wisp, allowing kitsune to grab a little buddy that perfectly meshes their eastern flavor. Awesomely enough, the foxfire wysp isn't an elemental or an aberration, like its name would suggest. Instead, it functions as a special type of kami that also has the kitsune subtype, and its presence can actually empower kitsune and kami alike.

There's even a picture of Everyman Gaming's adopted mascot, Kyr'shin Yilenzo, as a whippersnapper?! Will wonders ever cease?

There's even a picture of Everyman Gaming's adopted mascot, Kyr'shin Yilenzo, as a whippersnapper?! Will wonders ever cease?

Although it wasn't originally in the outline, another part of the book that I'm REALLY excited about is, of all things, the appendix. This useful section of the book includes a LOT of information that I feel is crucial to playing a dynastic race. This includes the charts and tables needed to randomly determine your character's age, height, and weight, but it ALSO includes special tables for the dynastic races that are designed to fit seamlessly with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game's background generator. In a single book, you'll have everything you need to create a dynastic races character, craft its background and character history, and customize it however you see fit!

The Dynastic Races Compendium is available now from all major digital PDF vendors. We hope you'll take the time to pick this one up—its got a lot of heart and soul in it, and I am confident that you'll never pick up a race book that respects its topics as much as this one. Our motto has always been, "Innovation is never more than a page way," but with the Dynastic Races Compendium, we hold true to our core values in the biggest way possible!

What's New with Everyman Gaming — February 2017 Edition

Hello, Everyman Gaming fans!

January's almost at its end, and its brought one of the most exciting months Everyman Gaming has ever had with it. So far, it looks like our new Everyman Minis line has proven popular, and to those of you who've become a fan of the minis cool content and high-quality writing, I am pleased to report that you have new Everyman Minis to look forward throughout February, as well as one surprise product (or, at least its a surprise if you haven't checked out our Facebook group.)

In any event, I'm here today to tell you what's new with Everyman Gaming!

5 EMM Kumiho.png

The kumiho is a monster that we've hinted at several times throughout Everyman Gaming products, going all the way back to the Kitsune Compendium. Soon, GMs will be able to unleash these terrifyingly powerful, CR 23 monsters on their PCs. Although the kumiho excels at enchantments and illusions, it would be foolish to think that this creature couldn't put up one heck of a fight!

Its February, and love is in the air! What's the deal with all this love? Well, ask the oracle! The Passion Mystery is a new oracle mystery that centers around charm, romance, and lust, benefiting allies just as often as it hampers foes.

6 EMM Mysteries of Passion.png

7 EMM Deific Passengers.png

The vessel class, heralding from Paranormal Adventures, has proven to be an instant favorite among Everyman Gaming fans for its evocative imagery and concept. And now, just when you thought you were carrying enough planar baggage on your soul,  the gods themselves have decided they want a piece of your succulent, mortal body! Watch out, outsiders, the gods have arrived!

Why should fancy new options like alternate racial traits be just for PC races? Using Pathfinder's race building rules, we've taken the statistics for 0-Hit Die gnolls and crafted some all-new alternate racial traits (as well as two new racial feats) for gnoll characters to enjoy. All gnolls don't have to be statistically the same—spice them up with Everyman Minis: Gnoll Options!

8 EMM Gholl Options.png

minis.19.jpg

If you follow Everyman Gaming on Facebook (and if you don't, please do!) then you likely know of a recent announcement that our friends and partners at Imagine 3D Miniatures made. In celebration of January's Dynastic Races Compendium, Everyman Gaming and Imagine 3D Miniatures teamed up to create an all-new kitsune miniature based off of one of our backers' Patreon characters. I'm happy to announce the first-ever (as far as I know, anyway) commercially-available nine-tailed kitsune miniature—Taka'shi Tomoshiba! Taka'shi is available NOW for purchase, and expect to see him crop up more in the future as Everyman Gaming expands the history and lore of nine-tailed kitsune!

And that about covers everything that you have to look forward to from Everyman Gaming LLC in February! While the Everyman Minis are being produced, I'm still working away at Grad School and the Skill Challenge Handbook, which is on a strict, "When its done" time table. I'm also working on "Ultimate Charisma tracking sheets" for the near future, which are basically paper sheets you can add to your character sheets to track some of the most complicated bits of Ultimate Charisma, like cohorts and reputations.

Before signing out, I just want to say a quick thank you to all of our fans—without you, Everyman Gaming couldn't exist! Take care!

Site Updates, Product Schedules, and More

Welcome, Everyman Gaming fans, to the year 2017! We hope your New Year has been fun and relaxing and filled with great gaming experiences!

As we mentioned back in December, we have plenty of new and exciting things to talk about for the Everyman Gaming product line, all of which I am going to summarize/gush about.

Let's get started!

EVERYMAN MINIS

The first order of business is the new Everyman Minis line, which are set to be released every week. The goal is to have them go live on Thursday, but we've been having some technical issues, so they haven't been going up across all of the platforms. At the moment, you can pick up Interval Spellcasting by Luis Loza and Skinsuit Ritual by Alexander Augunas at DriveThruRPG! Make sure to keep your eyes peeled on our social media platforms, however—we'll announce it as soon as our products are available everywhere.

DYNASTIC RACES COMPENDIUM

For those of you who can remember back to June, Everyman Gaming ran a Kickstarter for a new product—the Dynastic Races Compendium. This massive tome combines and expands our classic Samsaran Compendium and Kitsune Compendiums together, all while adding an equal amount of content for wayangs and nagaji. Everything from biology to culture to ethnicity and more can be found within the Dynastic Races Compendium, and if that wasn't enough all of the content from its parent products have been expanded, clarified, and enhanced! If you're a fan of dynastic races, this is a can't-miss product!

Cover - Dynastic Races Compendium Cover.png

The Dynastic Races Compendium will be available to Kickstarter backers soon, and is set to be commercially available at the end of January!

SITE IMPROVEMENTS

In addition to new product, we've got some minor improvements to the functionality of the Everyman Gaming website! We've gone through all of the products and categorized them by subtype where applicable—this means that similar products such as Everyman Options and Everyman Unchained all appear on the same page, which should making viewing easier. Let us know what you think so we can update our site to better suit your needs!

OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS

This is probably what I'll look like by the time the semester ends.

This is probably what I'll look like by the time the semester ends.

In addition to these larger announcements, I have one smaller one to make—as of Monday, January 9th, I (Alex Augunas) have enrolled in my graduate level program. I'm studying the Education in the Foundations of Behavior Analysis, with the eventual goal of becoming a behavior analyst. This is an exciting time for me, but the demands of graduate-level work are real, and something has to give. That "something" is Everyman Gaming's large-scale product cycle. While we're not going to stop doing big products for good (and the Skill Challenge Handbook is my next release goal in this regard), I simply don't have the same amount of time to commit to larger products as I traditionally have. Everyman Minis will still be released on a monthly basis, but in the meantime I need all Everyman Gaming fans to be patient while I figure out what my studying needs are. So this isn't a "good bye" to large scale published works from Everyman Gaming, but it is an acknowledgement that our formally once-mer-month release schedule needs to slow down.

So thanks for being patient with me, and thanks for being the best fans ever! I promise that we (myself and all of the fantastic freelancers I've been working with to make Everyman Minis happen) have some great things in store for you in 2017. Let's get there together!
