Everyman Minis: Dynastic Spell

By Matt Morris

For the Pathfinder RPG customer who wants a little more, Everyman Gaming is proud to introduce Everyman Minis! Uniting several high-quality Pathfinder RPG freelancers under a single product line, each week a different Everyman Gaming author or freelancer tackles an exciting new topic by creating a miniature product specially designed to scratch that product’s particular itch.

This installment of Everyman Minis includes: 1,000 words detailing several all-new spells themed around kitsune, nagaji, samsarans, and wayangs that are available to spellcasters of all races and creeds. Included are spells that allow you to swear an oath with your allies while monitoring each other’s faithfulness, crush enemies with coils of force, steal an enemy’s shadow, provide yourself with an insight from a previous lifetime, and more.

With Everyman Gaming, innovation is never more than a page away!

So, Matt Morris’ dynastic spells did not impress me for the most part; Submission and swear to secrecy are nice, but having seen as many spells as I have over the years, I wasn’t too blown away by any of the other spells within, and at this brevity, the spells needed to rock. Some also have some hiccups in the rules-language, making this, overall, an okay little booklet. That being said, competition among spell books is fierce, and there are a ton of truly excellent ones out there, and in comparison, this feels a bit underwhelming. Hence, my final verdict can’t exceed 2.5 stars, rounded up due to in dubio pro reo.
